ATLANTIS matte painting with breakdown
Okay I know I posted back in January that that was the “final” version of this matte painting. Well, I just couldn’t leave it alone. I gave it a much more dynamic camera move, repainted a lot of the elements, gave it the slightest hint of caustics hitting the floor in the background and changed the light rays from a simple 2d trick to actual 3d volumetric lighting. So for better or worse, this is the definitive Final version of this piece. I also changed the name to Atlantis. Why not.
